DOWN TO BUSINESS

Our 11th Tournament was played at the Wetlands. Ron Martel lead all participants with an 83, net 59, while winning the B Flight. Greg Vasas won the A Flight shooting an 81, net 74, and Dan Stein took the C Flight with a 97, net 70. While the course was shorter that than we normally play, it still had it challenges. It was a fun day for all.

This was also our final tournament before the Club Championship rounds (see new by-law below). Congratulations to Dave Camplell, Jr who won the a Flight by 4 tenths of a stroke over Greg Vasas, Tim Vasas, who ran away from the pack in the B Flight and new member Skylar Delph, who beat out Dan Stein by 9 tents of a stroke.

NEW CHAMPIONSHIP BY-LAW

Dino’s Championship will be comprised of the final two rounds of the current season.  These two rounds are defined as “post season”.  The location(s) of the post season rounds will be determined by the tournament director.  The following outline defines eligibility for participation in the Championship:

  1. All Flight Winners are automatically qualified to participate in the two Championship rounds.

  2. The remaining members, who have met the required minimum tournaments, are eligible to participate in the first round of the Championship.  Out of this group, four “wild card” players will qualify to continue onto the second Championship round.  If the club is operating under the three flight system, then five “wild card” players will qualify.
  1. Qualification of “Wild Card” Participants:  The “wild card” players will be based on the lowest accumulative net average of total qualifying tournaments (70%) plus the first championship round.  NOTE:  The first championship round will not count as a season qualifying tournament.

  2. The Club Champion will be decided by the lowest net score for the two Championship rounds (36 holes).
  1.  In the event that one of the championship rounds is cancelled because of weather, the champion will be determined by the lowest net score between the following participants:  All flight champions and second place finishers within each flight, who have qualified. In the event the club is operating under the “Three Flight Exception”, the flight champions, flight runner ups and two wild card players will be the participants.  The wild card players are the two players with the lowest net averages from the rest of the members.

The Club Champion will be decided by the lowest net score for the two Championship rounds (36 holes).

The club will pay for green fees and cart fees associated with the post season rounds as follows:

  1. Championship Round No. 1:  All flight winners will have their cart fees covered by the club.  All other participants will be responsible for their cart fees.
  2. Championship Round No. 2:  The club will cover the cart fees for all eight qualifying participants.

NEXT UP

Penn National - Iron Forge, on SATURDAY, September 11th at 11:30 AM. This will be the first round of the Club Championship. The 3 Flight winners, Dave Jr, Timmy and Skylar have a lock on both rounds. While others who have played 8 tournaments have a chance to get into the second round at the Easton Club, September 19th, (See the Leaderboard)
